The
Tucson School of Horseshoeing is in the heart of Tucson, Arizona.
Tucson, a large sprawling metropolis with a tremendous number of
horses, has maintained the atmosphere of the Old West.
Tucsonans enjoy the comforts
of rural Western living and the convenience of urban facilities
year-round in the warm, arid climate.
Tucson
School of Horseshoeing has complete facilities unsurpassed in efficiency
and practicality. Careful thought and consideration have been
given to their design and construction.
Each student is assigned
to a combination forge, work bench, vise, anvil, stand and all the
blacksmith hand tools. Each student has an individual stall
with cross ties for the horse they are working on. The school
has grinders, arc, acetylene welders and a metal band saw for each
of the students use.
Each instructor has no more than five
students. We accept nothing less than perfection on every piece
of work you turn out. We keep you upside down and underneath horses
for the entire course. When you leave Tucson School of Horseshoeing,
your craftsmanship in the field will be competitive with that of
anybody in the business. If you work at shoeing horses, you will
be able to turn out this high quality work at the rate of one horse
shod per hour within one months time.
In
addition to the main shop, Tucson School of Horseshoeing has one of
the most complete and fully equipped portable horseshoeing shops in
service today. This portable shop is used for three to five days every
week, allowing the school to travel to any location requiring the
services of a farrier. This mobile unit can travel throughout the
country to bring the course to you if there are enough students in
your locality.
Location:
We
estimate that over the past fifteen years, we have only lost three
working days a year due to inclement weather. Our favorable location
gives Tucson School of Horseshoeing the combination of natural assets
and abundance of horses and a climate permitting outdoor work 52
weeks a year. No other horseshoeing school in the country can match
these special advantages.
Activities:
You
will find many horse activities taking place here. Rodeos, horse
shows, team roping, bull riding and team penning along with other
horse events that occur throughout the week and on weekends.
Plenty of action challenges the participant and delights the spectators.
We
want only serious students to enroll with us. Farriery at
its best must be your goal. We do not tolerate horseplay.
Serious horseshoeing in all its phases will occupy the time you
spend with us.
